To improve existing quantum devices, within the Quantum internet domain, new device designs and fabrication techniques have to be developed. These new designs are tested in a stepwise manner: first using test structures to verify the working of key concepts and later using the full device with the final goal to show a proof-of-concept. This student project will be an internship with a duration of at least 3-4 months or a Master’s thesis project with a duration of 6-9 months on the topic of Quantum internet devices and applications.There are several roles available within our projects:The design of key concepts for new quantum devices based on NV centers in diamond.Create test procedures for the validation & verification of created structures and devices.Development of demonstration setups showing the latest developments of color centers in diamond.Together with you, we will decide which subject is most suitable for your internship. Next to your individual assignment you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of experienced engineers.
